Amazon adds package return drop-offs at 1,500+ FedEx Office locations six years after the companies split

by | Mar 27, 2026 | E-commerce News

Amazon customers can now return unboxed items for free at more than 1,500 FedEx Office locations nationwide, marking a renewed partnership between two companies that largely severed ties in 2019 as Amazon grew into a direct logistics competitor. The drop-off return strategy is part of Amazon's broader effort to reduce last-mile logistics costs by shifting pickups away from customers' homes. The partnership comes as the two companies remain active rivals, with FedEx announcing same-day delivery services earlier this week and Amazon rolling out 1-hour and 3-hour delivery options earlier this month.
