Google's contracted future spending commitments reached $811B as of June 30, close to $500B higher than three months prior, according to Bloomberg. The figure covers purchases Alphabet is already on the hook for under supply deals and open purchase orders, and it's disclosed separately from the capital expenditure budget. Chips, data centers, electricity, inventory, and content licenses all sit inside that number, with roughly $200.7B of it short-term, per the quarterly filing. Alphabet guided separately to $195B to $205B in capital expenditures for 2026, a ceiling it lifted from $190B during the quarter, as it competes with Microsoft, Meta, and Amazon for AI computing capacity. Second-quarter results out Wednesday came in ahead on cloud revenue and slightly under on search, which rose 17% to $63.27B.
