Aina, a San Francisco and Bangalore hardware startup founded by Apoorv Shankar, Ultrahuman’s former VP of hardware, opened preorders for a $399 AI ring with a small screen, with shipping planned for January. The ring draws on a user’s phone, Mac, calendar, location, and connected AI agents to predict three actions they’re likely to want next, such as booking a regular Uber ride to work or emailing that they’re running late. Users flick a finger up to accept a suggestion or down to dismiss it, hold a button to talk to their agents, and can take calls by raising a hand to their ear. At launch, Aina only works with iOS and Mac, and the company hasn’t said which agents or apps it will connect to.
