Shopify overhauls its Partner Program tiers for agencies, adding Diamond and basing ranks only on attributed GMV and shops

by | Nov 5, 2026 | Latest E-commerce News & Updates

Shopify is replacing the tier system in its Partner Program for agencies on January 1, 2027, after partners told it the current setup, introduced in January 2025, had too many requirements to track. Each new tier will depend on only two numbers, attributed GMV and attributed shops, starting with Silver at $25K and one shop over a year and topping out with a new Diamond tier at $500M and 25 shops over four years. Gold and Platinum fill the middle, while the Select, Premier, and Plus names are retiring, partly because merchants confused “Plus Partner” with the Shopify Plus plan. Promotions will also move from quarterly to daily, and partners keep an earned tier for six months or longer.
