Whatnot will make US sellers pay USPS weight adjustments starting November 4 instead of covering the extra postage itself

Whatnot will stop covering the extra postage USPS charges when a package weighs more than its label says, so starting November 4, US sellers will pay those adjustments themselves, according to Value Added Resource. For now, Whatnot will still absorb UPS adjustments and USPS charges for incorrect dimensions or hazmat labels, and sellers who made their first Whatnot sale after September 4 are exempt until they get separate notice. Sellers get 45 days to dispute a charge through a Carrier Adjustments dashboard, but USPS has the final say and may take as long as 90 days to rule. Whatnot said it adds no fee of its own, and that over 80% of sellers who used to get adjustments have reduced them since it began showing them the data in April.
