TikTok named Rebecca Yarros’s “Fourth Wing” its first European BookTok Bestseller of the Year, based on Media Control’s tracking of books tied to BookTok in Germany, the UK, Spain, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland from January through August. Chloe Walsh landed two titles in the top five, “Binding 13” and “Saving 6,” next to Rachel Reid’s “Heated Rivalry” and Elle Kennedy’s “The Mistake.” TikTok started the bestseller list in Germany in 2023 and has expanded it market by market, and it says more than 50 million BookTok books sold across Europe last year. In a TikTok-commissioned Qualtrics survey, 49% of users who engage with book content said the app had led them to purchase a book or audiobook.
