Netflix has held talks with NBCUniversal and Fox Corporation about making Peacock and Fox One available inside its own service, with no deal close and no decision on whether Netflix would fold the content in or just sell the subscriptions as a storefront, according to John Koblin at The New York Times. That's a turn for a company that told shareholders two years ago it was already the destination for entertainment, and it follows Netflix's June integration of French broadcaster TF1, which co-CEO Greg Peters called very promising last month. Third-party platforms now sell about a third of new streaming signups, per Antenna. Distributing that way costs a cut of subscription and ad revenue plus the direct customer relationship, but saves tens of millions in tech and marketing.
