Anthropic unveiled Claude Science, an AI research workbench that connects more than 60 scientific databases and prebuilt toolkits across genomics, proteomics, structural biology, and cheminformatics, in beta for Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise users. A primary agent oversees each project and spawns specialized sub-agents, while a separate reviewer agent audits citations and calculations before output reaches publication, and it runs on existing Claude models rather than a new specialized one. It runs on a lab’s own infrastructure so sensitive datasets don’t have to leave existing systems, bundling every figure with a reproducibility package of code, environment, and methodology. Anthropic also said it started an internal drug-discovery program targeting diseases traditional pharma finds commercially unattractive, according to CNBC.
