X launched a feature called “React with Video” that lets users record a video in response to an existing post, appearing either split-screen or superimposed over the original, pitched as an alternative to a Repost or Quote Post. The format closely mirrors what TikTok has offered since around 2021. The feature is currently available on iOS only, with a company spokesperson telling TechCrunch that Android and web versions are coming soon. X has been actively changing the platform lately, adding features like custom timelines and a 24-hour topic snooze tool while removing others, including the Communities feature. It has also sharply cut functionality for non-paying members, limiting free accounts to 50 posts a day and 200 replies, down from 2,400 posts a day.
