Business Insider's Savannah Born shopped the same grocery list across Walmart, Kroger, and Amazon, building it from Walmart's newly price-dropped items, and found Walmart cheapest at $52.32. Kroger landed close behind at $58.52 with its loyalty card and weekly deals, while Amazon fell out of contention early, with the same basket topping $70. No retailer won every category, and Kroger's cheapest prices required its card and coupons and expire weekly, unlike Walmart's rollbacks, which last weeks and apply to all shoppers. Walmart's rollback covered more than 250 items, which President Trump credited on Truth Social to his administration's request to mark the US 250th anniversary, a link Walmart has not confirmed.
