Vinted moves European balances off Mangopay to its own wallet and drops the Buyer Protection name from its mandatory fee

Vinted is rewriting its terms across ten European markets on October 5, with US and UK updates due October 8, according to Liz Morton at Value Added Resource. Anyone holding an activated balance is being moved off Mangopay onto Vinted’s own Vinted Pay wallet, and has to accept separate terms authorizing the transfer of those funds or lose access to the platform, though Pro sellers are exempt. The mandatory Buyer Protection fee disappears in name, replaced by a “Vinted fee” the company calls a contribution to its cost of running the site, and the refund rights that sat under Buyer Protection move into a standalone Refund Policy. Sellers get 48 hours instead of 24 to prove authenticity on a flagged item, but Vinted now claims the right to destroy anything its verification calls counterfeit.
