Uber raises Delivery Hero stake to 19.5% to become the largest shareholder of the Berlin-based food delivery platform

Delivery Hero confirmed that Uber has increased its shareholding in the company to 19.5% plus an additional 5.6% held in options, making Uber the largest shareholder in the Berlin-based food delivery platform that operates in around 65 countries. The move follows last month's agreement by Dutch investment company Prosus to divest a 4.5% stake in Delivery Hero to Uber for €270M ($317.5M), part of Prosus's commitments to the European Commission for its Just Eat Takeaway.com acquisition. The stake increase comes shortly after Delivery Hero co-founder and CEO Niklas Östberg announced he would step down by March 2027, with the supervisory board aiming to find his successor by the end of this year.
