Two-thirds of paycheck-to-paycheck BNPL users would likely abandon a cart missing their preferred provider, per Sezzle survey

Two-thirds of paycheck-to-paycheck shoppers who use BNPL would probably walk away from a purchase if checkout lacked their preferred provider, according to a Morning Consult survey commissioned by Sezzle. Over a third of that group had been turned down by a BNPL service before, while 82% said BNPL let them buy something they’d otherwise have put off or skipped. Gen Z users lean on BNPL far more heavily than Boomers, with 72% using it twice a month or more versus 27%, and 85% of Gen Z users have tried more than one provider. Sezzle, which says it approves over 90% of applicants based on its own data, is pitching the findings to retailers as a reason to add a second BNPL option before Black Friday.
