TikTok is launching its third annual Community Fest, a summer-long series of educational workshops, in-app competitions, and fan celebrations centered on livestream creators, kicking off June 11. The program includes a first-time Creator Academy teaching emerging creators how to build an audience on TikTok Live, covering technical basics, early-broadcast engagement, and community-building tools, plus a global match tournament called Match Mania where viewers back their favorite creators to unlock rewards. The push is part of TikTok's broader effort to make livestreaming a bigger part of the app outside China, where sister app Douyin has turned live into a major revenue engine, and to eventually channel that engagement into live commerce.
