TikTok tests an opt-in tool that scans for AI deepfakes of creators’ likenesses and lets them report unauthorized uses

TikTok is testing an opt-in tool that scans for AI-generated versions of a creator’s likeness and lets them flag it, rolling out to some US creators, according to The Verge after the feature was spotted by consultant Matt Navarra. Creators who join must first verify their identity via Jumio with a live selfie scan and ID check. TikTok says it doesn’t retain ID documents and uses facial data only for likeness matching. System then scans for AI content that may use a creator’s likeness, letting them review what it finds and report unauthorized posts and accounts. YouTube has built a similar likeness-detection tool and recently opened it to all adult users.
