TikTok Shop publishes formal gambling policy banning lucky spins and 8 card-break formats while keeping qualified sellers on a 2.5 performance-score gate

TikTok Shop published a formal gambling policy on June 25 that bans lucky spins, raffles, sweepstakes, and eight specific card-break formats, placing the gamification layer of live commerce under hard compliance rules for sellers and creators alike. The platform classifies casino-style games and randomized mechanics like wheel spins, oyster openings, and lucky scoops as gambling, and shuts a common workaround by barring sellers from running wheel-spin draws even on free giveaways. Breaks survive but only under strict conditions, with sellers needing a Shop Performance Score of 2.5 or above, completion of the Qualification Center process, US-only livestreams, and limits to trading cards and memorabilia. Random Team Breaks, Bounty Breaks, King of the Hill, and HP Battles are among the eight formats prohibited outright, pushing affected sellers toward dedicated platforms like Whatnot and Fanatics Live.
