Taiwan’s Digital Affairs Minister Huang Yen-nan announced that Meta, LINE, TikTok, and Google must publish transparency reports by year’s end under Taiwan’s Fraud Crime Hazard Prevention Act. The law mandates fraud prevention plans, advertiser identity verification, and timely removal of fraudulent ads. The companies submitted their plans in May and will be guided through compliance. TikTok has applied to appoint a legal representative in Taiwan amid national security concerns, with its cooperation described as “not bad.”
