SoFi Technologies acquired the assets of UK-based fintech PrimaryBid’s directed share program for undisclosed terms, strengthening its push into retail investor participation and capital markets infrastructure and ending PrimaryBid’s independent operations. Founded in 2016, PrimaryBid built its business by aggregating retail investor orders into a single block to participate in public market offerings, gaining visibility during COVID-era emergency fundraising rounds, and had raised $190M in a 2022 Series C from backers including the London Stock Exchange Group before the prolonged UK IPO market slowdown weighed on growth. The two firms had partnered in October 2024 to launch DSP2.0, a directed share platform supporting equity program management for companies raising capital in the US, and SoFi added 1.1M new members in Q1 2026.
