Signal creator Moxie Marlinspike will integrate his encrypted AI platform Confer into Meta AI

Moxie Marlinspike, creator of Signal and its widely adopted encryption protocol, announced his privacy-focused AI platform Confer will integrate its encryption technology into Meta AI, with the goal of making AI conversations as private as end-to-end encrypted messages. The collaboration gives Marlinspike access to Meta's closed frontier models, which Confer previously could not support since its technology had been built on top of open-weight models. Details on exactly how the integration will work have not yet been disclosed, and Confer will continue to operate independently of Meta, but WhatsApp head Will Cathcart said the partnership reflects the importance of letting people use AI privately with access to confidential information.
