Sam Altman posted on X on Friday that parents can connect their family calendars to ChatGPT Work, tell it what their children are interested in, and have it generate a podcast for the morning ride to school covering that afternoon’s soccer game, an upcoming birthday, and some news. Animator Alex Hirsch replied, “What if you just talked to your children,” and drew close to 20 times the likes Altman’s post received. Comedian Gianmarco Soresi and actor Mike Dargatis both said the idea showed how far removed tech executives are from ordinary behavior. OpenAI president Greg Brockman posted a day later that colleagues resent being contacted by a coworker’s ChatGPT even for work they’d gladly do if asked directly, and said people would rather AI hand them back some time than sit between them.
