Paris Hilton’s 11:11 Media debuts a multipart deepfake documentary on TikTok, betting investigative work can scale on short-form

11:11 Media, the company founded by Paris Hilton, has debuted a new documentary titled “Searching for Mr. Deepfakes” on Hilton's TikTok account, the result of a three-year investigation into the anonymous operator of a deepfake platform that drew a reported 17 million monthly visitors at its peak before being shut down. The film was created by technology journalist Laurie Segall and her studio Mostly Human Media. To adapt it to TikTok, the two are chopping the film into socially native installments and distributing them through Hilton's account, which carries more than 200 million followers. The project doubles as advocacy: Hilton has lobbied for the DEFIANCE Act, aimed at giving victims of non-consensual deepfake exploitation legal recourse, an issue rooted in her own experience as the subject of non-consensual intimate content.
