OpenAI teased a hardware device for its Codex coding tool, posting a video showing a square button-covered gadget with the caption that favorite Codex shortcuts are getting an upgrade. The device is a collaboration with Work Louder, a company that makes mechanical keyboards and macro pads with mappable keys, dials, and switches, and its silhouette resembles Work Louder’s existing Creator Micro 2 macro pad. This is separate from the secretive AI device OpenAI is building with former Apple designer Jony Ive. OpenAI and Work Louder shared no specs, pricing, or further details, with the full reveal set for July 15.
