OpenAI is looking to raise at least $30 billion at a valuation of about $1.4 trillion before the new money, as a bridge round in place of the IPO it has pushed out of 2026, according to Bloomberg. Sam Altman told Bloomberg TV that OpenAI wants to adjust to its new safety requirements before taking on the scrutiny that comes with a public listing. The valuation is up from the roughly $1.2 trillion reported in mid-September and the $852 billion OpenAI was worth after raising $122 billion in March, and it would put OpenAI back above Anthropic’s latest private valuation. Investors are the ones driving demand this time, one person said, as OpenAI’s revenue run rate, which passed $40 billion over the summer, has grown 70% since July.
