OpenAI is bringing its GPT-6 Astra model and the cheaper GPT-6.1 Sol and GPT-6 Luna to Google Cloud’s Model Garden, starting with a private preview for select enterprise customers, with general availability expected in a few weeks. Google Cloud customers can pay for the OpenAI models out of spending commitments they’ve already signed and see the charges on the same invoice, so they don’t need a separate AI budget to use them. OpenAI also plans to add the models to Google’s Antigravity coding tool and to Gemini Agent, Google’s product for automating work across business apps. Microsoft is still OpenAI’s primary cloud partner, but AWS started hosting OpenAI’s models in April, after Microsoft’s exclusive license ended.
