Moonshot AI, a Chinese large-language model developer, released its new open-source foundation model, Kimi K2.5, which features advanced coding and visual processing capabilities. The system processes text and visual inputs to generate code and can coordinate a “swarm” of up to 100 specialized sub-agents to execute complex tasks in parallel. The launch intensifies global competition as the Beijing-based startup positions itself as a cost-effective alternative to U.S. rivals like OpenAI and Anthropic.
