Moonshot AI’s Kimi chatbot, Agricultural Bank of China and American Express rolled out a co-branded card on July 10 that they pitched as the world’s first AI-native credit card, with each tier mapped to a Kimi membership level and AI compute credits accruing on every purchase, according to Pandaily. Chinese banks have rushed out at least five AI-linked cards in a month, including China Merchants Bank’s tie-up with MiniMax and Ping An Bank’s card with Tencent Cloud and UnionPay, even as Chinese card issuance has shrunk for 14 quarters running to 687 million. American Express had already run the U.S. version in May, attaching a $300 yearly credit toward ChatGPT Business subscriptions to two of its business cards, Business Platinum and Business Gold, at no extra fee.
