Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth called the company’s partnership with defense tech startup Anduril a “return to grace” for Silicon Valley’s military ties. The collaboration aims to build XR gear for the U.S. military using Meta’s Reality Labs tech and Llama AI models, integrated with Anduril’s Lattice system. Bosworth said the project is privately funded and not a shift toward becoming a defense contractor but sees potential for dual-use technology. He emphasized it’s “way too early” to say if military work will become a business segment for Meta.
