Meta is partnering with studios like Disney and A24 to secure exclusive immersive content for its upcoming premium virtual reality headset, codenamed “Loma,” set to launch next year. Positioned as a sleeker, glasses-style alternative to Meta Quest and Apple Vision Pro, the device will reportedly cost under $1,000 and offer high-fidelity visuals via a connected pocket-sized puck. Meta is offering millions for original and adapted content based on popular IPs, aiming to drive adoption through entertainment appeal. The company’s VR division, Reality Labs, continues to operate at a loss despite leading headset sales and growing interest in its Ray-Ban smart glasses.
