Meta acquired Singapore-based AI agent developer Manus to integrate advanced automation into its enterprise and consumer products. The deal, reportedly valued at over $2 billion, secures a startup that achieved $100 million in annualized revenue just eight months after launching its general-purpose agent for tasks like market research and coding. Manus, originally incubated by Chinese startup Butterfly Effect before relocating to Singapore, will continue operating its subscription service independently while its team joins Meta to accelerate development of the Llama ecosystem.
