Loops, a Turkish startup that builds AI software for online retailers, raised $3.5 million in seed funding from a group of investors that includes a16z speedrun and NTT Docomo. Loops sells AI search, a shopping assistant that also handles customer support, software that fills in missing product attributes and descriptions, and virtual try-on, and it runs all four on the same catalog data instead of as separate products. Loops will put the money toward product development, deployment capacity, and international expansion, and it plans to build versions of the system for financial services and energy next.
