Kroger hired Jet.com co-founder Nate Faust as executive vice president and chief eCommerce officer, effective September 1. Faust was Jet.com’s chief operating officer, where he ran first-party merchandising, replenishment, and fulfillment and launched the Smart Cart model, which gave shoppers lower prices for buying more efficiently. After Walmart bought Jet.com in 2016, Faust stayed on as senior vice president of Walmart U.S. eCommerce supply chain, overlapping with Greg Foran, who ran Walmart U.S. at the time and has been Kroger’s CEO since February. Faust most recently founded Olive, a waste-free service for delivery and returns used by brands including Rhone and Rent the Runway.
