Klarna and Google announced a new integration that will let Google Pay users in the U.S. access Klarna's flexible payment options including pay-in-four interest-free installments and longer-term financing when checking out in the Gemini app or Google Search, including AI Mode. The integration is built within Google Pay for checkout on Google surfaces powered by the Universal Commerce Protocol, an open source standard Klarna announced support for in February that's designed to synchronize AI agents and retail systems across the digital shopping journey. The partnership follows previously announced integrations of Klarna with Google Pay, Google Store, Google Play, and Google Cloud, as more consumers use AI for product discovery, with 31.4% of consumers using AI to find product links in February per PYMNTS Intelligence data.
