Google’s AI Mode can now call local stores to check product availability and lets users track prices for specific hotels

Google is rolling out two new AI Mode features in the U.S. over the coming weeks, including the ability to have its agentic AI call local stores on your behalf to check whether a specific item is in stock nearby, a feature that launched on standard Search last November and is now coming to AI Mode. The update also adds per-hotel price tracking, letting users set up email alerts for price changes on a specific property during their chosen travel dates, rather than only tracking prices at a city level. Google said search interest in “AI travel assistant” has surged 350% over the past year and interest in “AI flight booking” has jumped 315%.
