Google cut the follower thresholds for search profiles, the claimable listings that give brands and creators a header image, links to their articles, videos, and social posts, and a follow button inside search results. Accounts now qualify at 35k subscribers or followers on YouTube, Instagram, or X, down from 100k, or at 100k followers on TikTok, down from 300k. Google launched the profiles in June under the old limits, which kept most mid-tier creators and smaller brands out of the format. Anyone who clears the new bar can claim and customize a profile through Google for Creators.
