eBay Prepares Sellers for USPS Rate Hikes and $4 Nonstandard Package Fees

eBay announced upcoming USPS rate changes effective July 13, 2025, including new First Class Mail and eBay Standard Envelope prices, with 1 oz at $0.74, 2 oz at $1.03, and 3 oz at $1.32. A new $4.00 fee will apply to nonstandard packages like tubes, cans, or parcels with liquid over specific thresholds. eBay is updating its listing and label tools to help sellers flag irregular shipments and ensure accurate pricing. While not mentioned in the official release, the USPS hikes will also boost eBay’s Gross Merchandise Volume metric, as GMV includes shipping fees.
