eBay has opened Ship with eBay, the managed shipping program it began testing in the US in May, to more personal-account sellers in categories like Collectibles, Fashion, Electronics, and Home & Garden, according to Liz Morton at Value Added Resource. On eligible Buy It Now listings of $200 or less, sellers no longer pick a carrier, because eBay sets up shipping, the buyer chooses standard or expedited, and a prepaid USPS or FedEx label goes to the seller. eBay’s terms now confirm sellers still pay Final Value Fees on buyer-paid shipping even though eBay collects it and sends it to the carrier, which it doesn’t do on the flat $14.95 shipping charge for sneakers in Authenticity Guarantee. Sellers may also have to refund outbound shipping on returns, though that money never reaches them.
