Deloitte identified critical inefficiencies in how Whole Foods utilizes Microsoft 365, citing “fragmented” toolsets and loose security protocols that hinder collaboration eight years after the Amazon acquisition. The consulting firm recommended a 24-month phased integration plan to migrate the grocer's 100,000-plus workforce onto Amazon’s backend tenant, a project reportedly codenamed “Cremini.” The move supports CEO Jason Buechel’s “One Grocery” strategy to unify operations and addresses the current “dual identity” setup where employees must juggle separate accounts for tools like Slack and Teams.
