What is Crossborderly?
A shipping technology company that allows US e-commerce to ship to 14 countries in Latin America, as simply as shipping to FL, NY, or TX. With one integration
We handle RULES, taxes, and logistics. All the way.
LATAM buyers want US products, but stores make it hard to buy from them. We fix that.
Are you funded?
No, we're bootstrapped.
Who do you serve?
Any US ecommerce store. Our only requirements are willingness to onboard the right way and to work with products allowed for export.
What's standout about Crossborderly?
We learned the written and unwritten rules of international logistics for over 10 years in Shop & Ship, exporting millions of small packages. We turned all that knowledge into tech+service.
What's next at Crossborderly?
Because of our approach to international logistics, we have already attracted the attention of some of the world's key players.
We remove all barriers to international commerce and make it so seamless that you'd want to have met us sooner.
In the long term, our plans include solving the omnipresent request from stores: they want international “fast and cheap” service.
In international logistics, fast and cheap don't exist, but we're working on a solution.
Did you know the US accounts for roughly 2% of cross-border sales worldwide? We have all the required tools to change that. It's just a matter of time and store owners willing to pay attention.
Going beyond borders is much more than just adding a few countries to your backend. You need to understand how marketing works, the cultural differences, and the meaning of “things” to people in other parts of the world—not because people are different but because motivators and barriers are different. The keyword in all this is “Trust”.
What's next in your niche?
Cross-border ecommerce is only growing in the coming years with a projected CAGR of 26% from a 1$.5T-$1.6T base in 2023 to a $7T-$9T total volume value in 2030.
But customs and logistics are getting harder every day. Protectionism, changing rules, logistics challenges like cargo space, and a pursuit for more planet-friendly options- the challenges ahead are nothing short of epic.
Pair that with a compromised budget on the side of buyers.
That's where Crossborderly will make an impact.
Who should I interview next?
I believe you should talk to Daniel Salcedo at The Bolder
What's one thing the public doesn't know about your professional background that has led you to this point in your career?
I've been working non-stop for 29 years in many industries, including investments, non-profits, telecommunications, MLM, etc.
But nothing taught me more about business than the hospitality industry. 80% of my career is based on stuff I learned at McDonald's and when I was a nightclub owner. The other 20% I learned in USA.
Also, I built, by myself and against the beliefs of others, the first and largest online academy for Spanish-speaking firefighters in the world, which I donated to the OAF.
What's one thing you wish more people paid attention to in the world?
I wish people understood that practically nothing is as critical as it looks in their heads and that no one is thinking of you as much as you think they are. Go and do your thing.
