Canada court overturns order to close TikTok operations

Canada’s federal court overturned a government order that required TikTok to dissolve its local business operations over national security concerns. Judge Russel Zinn set aside the mandate and directed Industry Minister Melanie Joly to conduct a new review of the case. The decision allows the ByteDance-owned app to remain active for its 14 million Canadian users while the government reevaluates the security risks.
