Apple adds an AI assistant built on Apple and OpenAI models to Pages, Numbers, and Keynote and opens the apps to outside AI agents

Apple added an AI assistant to Pages, Numbers, and Keynote that uses Apple’s and OpenAI’s models and understands what’s in a document so it can draft and rework text, design and animate slides, and build tables and charts. On macOS 27, the three apps also work with the Model Context Protocol, so outside AI agents can operate inside them too. The assistant is in beta for now, available on Apple Intelligence devices running version 27 of iOS, iPadOS, or macOS. Apple is also adding AI to its other Creator Studio apps, including prompt-based image edits in Pixelmator Pro and an assistant in Logic Pro that sets up tracks, with those updates free for current subscribers in November.
