Anthropic updates Claude Design with tighter design-system control, finer editing tools, and shared token limits

Anthropic has released a major update to Claude Design, the AI design tool it launched in April, addressing the main complaints designers raised in its first months. The headline change is tighter adherence to design systems, letting non-designers generate prototypes that match a company's brand and style guidelines while design admins keep more control over the output. It also adds finer editing controls over layout, typography, and button styles inside an interactive prototype, and makes the tool more token-efficient by moving it onto the usage limits shared across Claude chat, Cowork, and Code. Anthropic is pitching the tool for the early, idea-testing stage rather than final production.
