Anthropic signed a 20-year lease for an undisclosed price at a data center campus that EverWind plans to build in Point Tupper, Nova Scotia, making it Anthropic’s first data center deal in Canada, which it says is Claude’s sixth-largest market. EverWind is putting C$8 billion into the campus and C$2 billion into onshore wind farms, starting with a 95-megawatt first phase due in late 2027 and growing to 420 megawatts by mid-2028. Because the wind farms will come later, the site will initially draw from the provincial grid, with EverWind covering the connection and upgrade costs instead of ratepayers. The project still needs industrial and environmental approvals from the province.
