Anthropic moved its IPO to November from October, according to the Wall Street Journal, with advisers saying the extra weeks let it put third-quarter financials in front of investors after OpenAI shipped its Astra model this month. People familiar with the timing say the call was made before a former Anthropic researcher’s public warning set off the debate over whether AI is moving too fast, and they say the date could shift again. Investors have been expecting a valuation near $2T and a raise of as much as $100B, both beyond the records SpaceX set in June. They now plan to press Anthropic on what Dario Amodei’s own call for a slowdown does to those figures, though its advisers argue existing models throw off enough revenue that the pace of new ones barely matters.
