Anthropic launched “Agent Skills” as an open standard, releasing the specification and SDK at agentskills.io to establish a universal framework for imparting specialized procedural knowledge to AI assistants. The initiative, which allows organizations to package workflows into reusable modules without fine-tuning models, debuted with enterprise management tools and a partner directory featuring integrations from Atlassian, Figma, Stripe, and Zapier. The company confirmed that Microsoft has already adopted the standard for VS Code and GitHub, while OpenAI has reportedly implemented a structurally identical architecture within ChatGPT.
