Amazon expanded its fast delivery options by launching 1-hour shipping across major U.S. metro areas including Los Angeles and Chicago, and 3-hour shipping in more than 2,000 cities and towns, covering more than 90,000 products including everyday essentials, toys, and perishables in select areas. Prime members pay an extra $9.99 for 1-hour delivery and $4.99 for 3-hour delivery, while non-Prime shoppers pay $19.99 and $14.99 respectively. The expansion builds on Amazon's existing same-day delivery network and comes alongside its separately announced “Amazon Now” service, which delivers groceries and everyday essentials in 30 minutes or less in select cities.
