Affirm CEO Max Levchin told analysts on the company’s fiscal third-quarter earnings call that the buy now, pay later lender has no plans to trim headcount due to AI, telling analysts “we are not planning AI-related layoffs, full stop.” The statement comes as other fintechs have been pinning layoffs on AI, with Block CEO Jack Dorsey touting AI-driven restructuring results on a separate earnings call the same day, and Coinbase earlier this week announcing it was laying off 14% of its staff due to a crypto slump and AI. Affirm reported revenue of $1.04B for the quarter, up 33% year-over-year, with net income of $102M versus analyst expectations of $60.6M.
