Adobe reportedly explored acquiring AI video startup Synthesia for around $3 billion, but the two companies couldn’t agree on price. The talks followed Adobe’s $10 million investment in Synthesia in April and came as Adobe looks to expand its video and AI capabilities beyond its Firefly model. Synthesia, based in London, generates realistic AI avatars used by companies like DuPont, Heineken, and Bosch for training and customer support videos. The startup recently surpassed $150 million in annual recurring revenue, up 50% since April, and is now planning a new funding round expected to value it above $3 billion. Synthesia also held separate sale discussions with Meta earlier this year, which did not advance.
