Profound raised $180 million in a Series D co-led by Sequoia Capital and Kleiner Perkins, valuing it at $1.8 billion seven months after its $96 million Series C. The company began as an analytics platform showing brands how they surface in ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity answers, and it’s now pushing AI Marketer, an agent that reads a brand’s data, finds openings, and sends sub-agents to write content, refresh stale pages, run competitive analysis, and manage paid campaigns. Those campaigns run through Ads Studio, which builds and edits AI Search ads in bulk across OpenAI, Google, and Meta ad managers and tracks them with Profound’s own pixel. The round will expand an applied AI lab in New York and San Francisco, where Profound post-trains models for marketing and benchmarks their work.
