Anthropic signed a six-year, $13.7 billion compute deal with Rum Group, the video platform formerly called Rumble that hosts Trump’s Truth Social and carries official White House livestreams, according to The Information. Anthropic would lease space in a data center under construction in Maysville, Georgia, which came to Rum in its June acquisition of the German neocloud Northern Data, and Rum told investors in an August filing that it had no financing in place for the building or the chips. Anthropic also gets an option to buy up to 51 million Rum shares for a penny each, against a Friday close of $7.17, with half of that tied to how much capacity it takes at Maysville. It joins a year of Anthropic compute deals covering at least 14.8 gigawatts and running to $517 billion over ten years.
