Anthropic is facing a proposed class action alleging it kept collecting full subscription fees from Claude Pro and Max customers during a stretch when they got less than they paid for. The complaint, filed in the Northern District of California by Isabelo Pascual, points to a March 26 change that burned through five-hour session limits faster during weekday peak hours, and to backend problems Anthropic acknowledged between March and April that weakened Claude Code’s reasoning, made it lose context and repeat tasks, and drained allowances quicker than expected. Anthropic reset limits and on May 6 raised them and dropped the peak-hour rule, but the suit says nobody was refunded for the earlier window. It covers subscribers who bought directly between March 4 and May 6.
